My background

I have over 30 years of experience within office management, PA support, project/grant support and coordination, administration and event management.

Most of this time I have supported the Welsh voluntary sector in various roles. For 18 years I worked for BBC Cymru Wales, initially in a role which had a dual function firstly assisting in the administration of the BBC Children in Need grant portfolio and fundraising appeal and secondly the administration of the BBC’s Broadcast Appeals for all UK charities on radio and television. Over time my role evolved to develop the BBC Wales charity broadcast process, transforming formats to deliver significant improvements to engagement with the Public and Third Sector in Wales, giving Welsh charities a unique opportunity to promote their organisations on television, radio and online.

Following the Charities Co-ordinator role being made redundant, I took up a post with Wildlife Trusts Wales in a multi-functional role, managing the office and providing the secretariat to the senior management team of the Welsh Wildlife Trusts and the Board members of Wildlife Trusts Wales. This has now become a part time post allowing me the amazing opportunity to join the Community Foundation Team.

What I do

I have been contracted to work on a Trust and Foundations Action Learning Project that will gain a broader understanding and awareness of alternative sources of funding, in particular for smaller grassroots organisations. The project will build connections between the Welsh third sector and Trusts and Foundations that are external to Wales. Learning will be shared externally to create a culture of collaboration and partnership working.

Ask me about...

Leads to possible Trust and Foundation funders who may be willing to work with organisations in Wales and learning and support that Community Foundation can give grass-root groups around funding from different sources and opportunities to develop and strengthen skills.

Why I love Wales

Wales is in my heart because all my family ties are here. Wherever I am or have been in the world, Welsh vibes always call me home.

Wales has a unique mixture of beautiful scenery, its own language and culture, along with warm and welcoming people.
