The First Ever Virtual Global Giving Circle for Welsh Communities – all donations doubled!

The Community Foundation in Wales is inviting everyone who loves Wales  – from anywhere in the world – to join our first ever virtual Global Giving Circle.  Softly launched on 25th January, which is St Dwywen’s Day  (the Welsh St Valentine), celebrated on St David’s Day, and finishing on 31st May 2016.  This is a celebration of Wales!

Liza Kellett, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation in Wales explained, “We’re thrilled to introduce a new way of giving back to Wales on a global scale – and to be launching it on the Welsh day of love!”
As the Community Foundation in Wales’s first online giving circle for Welsh communities,  this is the finale of this programme to encourage people to give to local causes, uniting a worldwide network of philanthropists in showing their love for Wales.
The Foundation has selected five ‘treasure’ organisations to represent the broad range of community and charitable work which support and celebrate Welsh culture, heritage, language and communities.  All donations received up to our first £5,000 target will be matched pound for pound, and split equally between the five ‘treasures’ which are in North America, Patagonia, London and Wales. Once this target has been reached, all additional donations will go to our Fund for Wales, and will also be matched thanks to our Big Lottery match challenge.
The five ‘treasures’ will be announced over the coming weeks, and the Community Foundation in Wales will connect with people who are passionate about Wales via social and digital media, giving them the chance to give something back to Wales.
Thank you for joining our community of donors from across the World who are showing their love for Wales.
