Applications open for Principality funds supporting communities across Wales

We’re proud to be working with Principality Building Society as they launch the fifth round of the Future Generations Fund and the second Retrofit for the Future Fund. Together, these funds have now brought over £2 million of investment into communities across Wales since 2022.
This latest £500,000 contribution will support:
Future Generations Fund: helping young people under 25 access mental health services, financial education, skills training, and more.
Retrofit for the Future Fund: enabling community facilities to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Since launching, the funds have backed projects across Wales – from work placements for 57 participants with the Community Impact Initiative in Bridgend, to environmental programmes with Groundwork North Wales, and literacy support with the award-winning Stephenson & George Centenary Charitable Trust in Merthyr.
Harri Jones, Interim Head of Brand, Impact and Communications at Principality Building Society, said:
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate the Future Generations Fund reaching this remarkable £2m milestone. This achievement reflects the importance of investing in people and communities – helping to create a fairer society and make impactful change. By continuing to support these organisations, we are laying the foundations to make more possible for communities today, and for generations to come.”
Our Director of Philanthropy, Katy Hales, added:
“The Future Generations Fund has already had a powerful impact on young people and communities in Wales, helping to tackle the issues that matter most to them. Principality’s commitment means local organisations can deliver long-term, life-changing support – from mental health services to skills development – that simply wouldn’t be possible otherwise. This next round of funding will open up even more opportunities for people across Wales, and we’re proud to work with Principality to make that happen.”
Applications for both funds are now open until 6 October 2025 and you can find out more here.
