Katy Hales

I joined Community Foundation Wales in September 2018. I previously worked for 8 years in the University sector, concentrating predominantly on trusts and foundations fundraising, legacies, major gifts and alumni development. Prior to this I worked as an Associate for Deloitte, specialising in International Tax.

As Director of Philanthropy, my job mainly revolves around connecting with potential philanthropists, whilst nurturing existing supporters of the Foundation. I maintain a portfolio of legal and financial advisors, working in partnership with them to match donors with the community groups and geographical areas that best suit their clients’ philanthropic wishes.

I moved to Wales from Reading in order to attend Cardiff University, and have never looked back. You’re never more than a few miles from the coast, countryside, mountains and lakes, plus the food scene has rocketed in quality in recent years.
