Young People's Cricket Fund
The Young People’s Cricket Fund (“the YPC Fund”) has been created to enable young people without access to cricket to experience it and benefit from it both physically and mentally.
Mohammed Ahmed Rahim Galadari was a successful businessman who had a deep and abiding love of cricket. He financially supported the game and had a particular interest in encouraging the involvement of young people from communities where there was otherwise little prospect of them experiencing cricket. He recognised the ability of cricket to develop life skills & build self confidence in children and to assist in highlighting the values of team work across class, ethnicity and generations.
Mr. Galadari envisaged the creation of a body to help these objectives and accordingly, the M.A.R.G. Galadari Foundation (“the Foundation”) has been created. The Foundation will be the main engine of fundraising for the YPC Fund but will also play an active and robust part in ensuring that monies donated are applied in accordance with its objectives, thereby giving comfort to donors.
The Foundation & the YPC Fund, in accordance with the known wishes of Mr Galadari, will make grants in North Somerset and Wales to bodies approved by the Foundation to help fulfil his objectives.
To avoid duplicated administrative costs, the YPC Fund will be partnering with Community
Foundation Wales to deliver the Foundation’s objectives. They currently manage the Cricket Wales Fund, and have experience with collecting donations and the administration of Gift Aid. Community Foundation Wales have been supporting charities and community groups with funding to strengthen communities and create equality and opportunity for over twenty years.
