Your grant helped fund my uni voluntary placement
A student studying for a BA Hons Politics at Bournemouth University was awarded £500 towards transportation costs for unpaid voluntary work, a new PC monitor and the costs associated with student living.
“This grant has made a tremendous impact on my educational development and has enabled me to gain the most out of my higher education experience. The majority of the funding was allocated towards the utilities. The grant provided me well needed financial relief with regards to paying utilities. In a student house, with poor insulation, the grant allowed me to pay for essential winter utility bills.
An additional £100 was allocated for a new laptop monitor. My old one was broken and prevented me from working on assignments with maximum efficiency.
The remainder of the money was allocated towards transportation costs to and from Southampton to conduct my voluntary placement which has enabled me to open up the doors in the political marketplace. From being able to conduct my voluntary placement, I have extended my networking and recruited various contacts that will help me with my career progression.
Without this money, I would not have been able to conduct the placement.”
