Community Foundation Wales launches ‘Our Communities Together – a cost of living crisis appeal’
The cost of living crisis is impacting community groups of all sizes, causing them to struggle to meet the rising costs of delivering vital services at a time when demand for these services is increasing.
To respond to these increasing needs, Community Foundation Wales has launched Our Communities Together – A Cost of Living Crisis Appeal. Monies raised will support charities and community organisations across Wales to help those most affected by the cost of living crisis.
Your donation to the Our Communities Together – A Cost of Living Crisis Appeal could help provide a grant of £1,000 which would support an organisation to:
• Deliver one to one support sessions on finance to individuals who need help with budgeting.
• Provide classes to families about cooking healthy, economic meals or smart weekly shopping.
• Provide access to IT and other support services for families who are unable to make ends meet.
• Help a community venue to stay open and warm to support vulnerable people in the community.
We are partnering with media company Newsquest on the appeal which will see the campaign featured in their print and online platforms.
Richard Williams, Chief Executive of Community Foundation Wales said:
“All across Wales, the effects of the cost of living crisis are being felt and those most in need are suffering.
Grassroots groups and charities provide essential support to their communities, and they are struggling to meet rising costs which puts them at risk of being unable to deliver vital services when demand is ever increasing.
We are urging people and businesses across Wales to help us raise as much money as possible to help support our communities through this crisis.”
To make the most out of each donation, we will match up to £25,000 of donations from individuals, matching every £1 donated with an additional £1.
