In recent weeks, anti-immigration riots have sparked unnecessary violence and sought to spread hatred in areas of the UK. At Community Foundation Wales, we are deeply troubled by these distressing displays of hostility and racism, which have left many feeling unwelcome in their own homes.
Through our work with grassroots charities and community groups across Wales, we know that these actions do not reflect the true spirit of our diverse and inclusive communities. Our communities are open and supportive, extending a warm welcome to those displaced by conflict and seeking sanctuary in Wales.
This is a time to show that we are stronger together.
Our extensive knowledge of grassroots and third sector organisations means we can reach the charities and community groups that provide this kind of support, quickly and efficiently.
We know that organisations helping those displaced by conflict are in need of support now more than ever, so we are appealing to people and businesses to donate to the Nation of Sanctuary Croeso Fund so that we can continue to provide vital support to people displaced by conflict and seeking sanctuary in Wales.
Nation of Sanctuary Croeso Fund
The Nation of Sanctuary Croeso Fund provides vital support to Welsh charities, community groups and organisations working with people displaced by conflict, some of whom have recently arrived in Wales, providing them with vital aid and helping them to settle in their new surroundings.
The Nation of Sanctuary Croeso Fund has had generous contributions from Welsh Government, Moondance and Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity as well as a number of donations from the Welsh public.
