Smitha Coughlan

Head of Finance

Smitha Coughlan

My background

I joined Community Foundation Wales in February 2022 as Head of Finance and prior to that worked as a Revenue and Pricing Manager in Wales & West Utilities. I did my training and qualifications at KPMG Cardiff, an audit and accountancy firm.

I’m also the Treasurer and a Trustee of The Birth Partner Project, a small Welsh charity that helps pregnant women that would otherwise face birth alone.

What I do

As the Head of Finance I look after all aspects of the charity’s finances from ensuring the money is wisely invested through to preparing the accounts.

Why I love Wales

I was born and raised in the Welsh valleys and feel completely at home surrounded by mountains, forests and rivers. I also regularly visit the stunning beaches of the Welsh coastline. Living near the city but also close to all the amazing natural landscape that Wales has to offer feels like the best of all worlds. There’s no other place I would rather be!
